6:11-13
The Lord now speaks to Solomon. God gives a conditional promise to Solomon. The promise is that God’s promises to David would be fulfilled through Solomon, and that He would love among His people Israel. The condition was that “you follow my decrees, observe my laws and keep all my commands and obey them”. I cannot tell if the “you” here is plural or singular. However, neither Solomon nor the people fulfilled this condition.
6:14-37
We now get details of the interior fittings. Inside the temple was the Most Holy Place. There was a lot of gold involved in the interior of the temple. Two cherubim, made out of olive wood, were inside. These were quite a size, and were also covered with gold.
The temple took a total of seven and a half years to build.
