Isaiah 51:11,12 - The ransomed of the Lord shall return

51:11
This is a repeat of Isaiah 35:10. It must have seemed impossible for Israel to ever be set free from captivity in Babylon, and to rebuild the temple and their homeland. God’s plans are all focused on our spiritual salvation, ie our salvation from sin, but the very real release from slavery in Egypt, and captivity in Babylon, demonstrate God’s ability to set us free, and the reality of His promises. Actually, setting us free from sin is far more difficult than setting a people free from human captivity. And there are many situations we encounter in life where it seems impossible for things to change, it seems as if we are trapped forever. With God, nothing is impossible. Gladness and joy will overtake us, and sorrow and sighing will flee away!

51:12

How can this happen? “I, even I, am He who comforts you”. Our salvation comes from God. Their captivity, and most of the things we fear, were captivity to men, but salvation comes from the Lord, and there is no comparison between them. So we should not fear “mere mortals”, for they are “but grass”.
