Two Bible Reading Plans

At this time many people make resolutions, maybe one of them is to read more of the Bible. There are many plans. Can I suggest two useful plans. One is from a friend of mine in California, Chase Thompson. He is following Murray McCheyne's reading plan on his daily podcast. You can find details here:
He comments on one of the passages, and reads all four passages in the plan. It is very good, especially if you prefer to listen to the word, as well as, or instead of, reading it.

The other plan is my own! (At least I haven't seen it anywhere else). It works like this

1. Have three "bookmarks". These can be physical bookmarks in a Bible, or e-bookmarks in something like the YouVersion Bible app.
2. Put one in Genesis 1, one in Job 1 (you can start in Psalms 1 in if you are feeling depressed and need cheering up!), and one in Matthew 1.
3. You then read three chapters each day, moving each bookmark forward one chapter.
4. The first bookmark covers Genesis-Esther, the second Job-Malachi, and the third Matthew to Revelation.
5. When one of the bookmarks gets to the end of its range, you just back to the beginning of that raange, so the first one goes back to Genesis 1.

That's it! You are now set for life! This plan has an enormous advantage over other plans in that it is perpetual, and you never read the same three chapters together again (I suppose if you did it long enough it might happen). So each year is different.
There is also another advantage. If you miss a day it doesn't matter just pick up again the next day. Oh, I know you are all so spiritual that this would never happen....,  but it does happen!

Why not do both? Try my plan, and listen to Chase's podcast.
