2 Corinthians 7:11,12 - Godly sorrow

7:11
The resentment or bitterness leads only to death (spiritual). See the way the LGBTQ “community” often reacts to clear Biblical teaching. But if someone has godly sorrow it leads to a determination to do things God’s way from now on.It produces a change in our lives, we dedicate ourselves to trying to be more Christlike.

7:12

People so often want to put things in terms of “whose side are you on”. With the issue at Corinth Paul was not interested in taking sides. He wanted them to get themselves sorted out before God.  Notice also that he says “you could see for yourselves how devoted to us you are”. If we are Christians and we start going down a wrong path we are not being ”true to ourselves”. We might think we are, but our true nature is found only in Christ. As we continue down this wrong path we will find things getting increasingly complicated and we will feel less and less at peace. We will need to spend an awful long time and much effort justifying ourselves (and failing). When we turn back to Christ we will find that things become much simpler and there is much more peace on our lives.
