2 Corinthians 9:12-15 - Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift

9:12
So Paul sees the production of thanksgiving to God as being an important byproduct of the practical help received by the church in Jerusalem. God is absolutely sovereign, but there is an intimate tie up with His people. We see this in Genesis with our being made in His image. He tied Himself to Israel, we need to show faith. And here our giving results in thanksgiving for Him.

9:13
It is not all about me (nor you). What I do affects others. If we act unfaithfully we harm the faith of others. Conversely if we acts faithfully we build up the faith of others. Because of this we need to think very carefully about how we act. The recipients of the gift would glorify God.

9:14,15

When we give to the poor they pray for us. The Bible makes clear that God hears the prayers of the poor, whether it be their cry against oppressors, or thanks for those who show kindness. And it is grace that produces kindness. We should delight in God's grace and all its fruits.
