Mark 12:6-9 - Let's kill him and the inheritance will be ours

12:6-8
Finally the owner had only his son left, and so he sent the son, thinking that surely the farmers would respect the son. But this was not to be. Instead they reasoned that if they killed the son then the vineyard would be theirs. This is the twisted thinking that comes with unbelief and rebellion against God. It utterly warps our thinking. So they killed the son, throwing him out of the vineyard. The parallels with Jesus are pretty obvious.

12:9

Jesus then asks the religious leaders a question. “what will the owner of the vineyard do now?” and Jesus tells them that the owner will come and kill then tenants. We should note that the “gentle Jesus, meek and mild” aphorism is rather limited! The Bible is perfectly clear from beginning to end, Jesus is perfectly clear, that judgement is coming.
