Isaiah 25:1,2 - I will exalt you and praise you

25:1
There is now a distinct change in tone, but we should bear in mind that just before this (ie at the end of chapter 24) Isaiah has been speaking about God punishing the wicked and reigning in Zion and Jerusalem. So despite the sinfulness of man (including Israel), it is the Lord’s plans that come to fruition. These plans are wonderful and were planned long ago.

25:2,3

Lest we think that this all very nice, Isaiah then immediately goes on to say that the Lord has made the city a heap of rubble, the foreigners stronghold has been destroyed. The triumph of good does require the destruction of evil. Jesus said that first the strong man had to be bound. But before anyone gets the idea of Christian jihad, remember that Jesus washed His disciples feet and went to die on a cross, and told us to love our enemies. There is a power struggle, and God is Lord over all, so the all peoples will revere Him for His power.
