22:47
The Psalm ends with an exultation of praise. “The Lord lives!” We do not worship an ideology or a myth. We worship the living God who lives and acts. He was the foundation of David’s life, and He was David’s saviour.
22:48
God is the God who avenged David, He brought him justice. Paul reminds us that vengeance belongs to the Lord. It is not for us to avenge, that is God’s task. “He puts nations under me”. Rebellious man seeks to gain power for himself, and this always ends in disaster. If we bow before the Lord, then He puts nations under us.
