9:32-34
The man then reminds them that the miracle was quite amazing. It wasn’t a case of someone who had become blind being able to see again. The man had never been able to see, until the healing. Only a man from God could do such a thing.The Pharisees react with their customary grace and tact. They had utter disdain for the common people, and they reacted by casting him out of the synagogue. This was quite probably excommunication.
9:35-37
Jesus heard that the man had been cast out of the synagogue and went to search for him. Jesus then introduces Himself to the man, explaining who He really is. He does this by first asking him if he believes in the Son of Man. The man does not know who the Son of Man is, but wants to know him so that he can believe. Jesus then tells the man that He is the Son of Man, “you have seen Him, and it is He who is speaking to you”.
