9:24,25
Following the parent’s limited answers, the Pharisees called the man himself in again for further questioning. They tell him to “give glory to God”. This does not mean “praise the Lord”, rather it means tell the truth, knowing that God sees and knows everything, so there is no point lying. They are also definitely “leading” the witness, telling him that they know that Jesus is a sinner. The man himself is not convinced, and says that he does not know whether or not Jesus is a sinner, but the one thing he is certain about is that Jesus healed him. There had to be an explanation for this healing.
9:26,27
The Pharisees ask him again how it happened. They had already asked this question, and the man had told them the practical details. The man knows he has already done this, and possibly suspects that the Pharisees are floundering. So he asks why they want to hear it all again. Then he says “do you also want to become his disciples?” . This could be taken as either a genuine question, or a rather cheeky comment.
