Moab is next in the firing line. Moab was born out of incest between Lot and his eldest daughters, at the behest of the daughter (this is not to say Lot was blameless, but neither was his daughter) Gen 19:30-38. His name is also found in Assyrian records, not just the Biblical ones. Balak was a Moabite king, and there are frequent mentions of Moab in the Old Testament. Swift destruction is scheduled to come upon Moab. Nothing that they try works. They seek help from their “gods”, but to no avail. They mourn, their armed men are no use either. When God’s judgment comes upon a land there is nothing that can be done.
