32:28,29
God then goes on to affirm what He is going to do and why He is doing it. He will give the city into the hands of the Babylonians. They will set fire to the city. These places which are going to be destroyed are the places where the people worshipped Baal and other gods. These actions aroused God’s anger. In worshipping other gods the people gave themselves over to demons, and it also resulted in child sacrifice.
32:30-32
This was no aberration on the part of the Israelites, but was a pattern of behaviour, right from their early days. Remember that they sinned in the desert, they sinned when they entered the Promised Land, and did so again and again. They continually aroused the anger of the Lord. And this behaviour was characteristic of the rulers, the priests and the people. All were guilty.
