Ephesians 3:7,8 - The working of His power

3:7

“I became a servant of the gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of His power. Paul was a servant of the gospel, he lived for the furtherance of the gospel (Acts 20:24). This was an act of God’s grace, and this grace was given to Him by the working of God’s power. We too often think of grace being a passive thing, it is nothing of the sort. The grace of God enables us to do God’s work, and for God’s power to work in and through us.

3:8

Paul states again the effectiveness of the grace of God. He was given grace to preach the gospel to the Gentiles. An ardent Jew was used by God to preach to the Gentiles. And Paul in no way deserved any of this, he describes himself as the least of all God’s people, probably because he persecuted the church before his conversion. Paul knew and experienced the boundless riches of Christ.
