3:24,25
Slaves are both encouraged and warned. They are encouraged by the fact that they will receive an inheritance from the Lord. Sceptics will say that this is just pie in the sky, and a means of getting people to behave themselves and know their place. But what if there is a Judge, and what if there is life after death? This is all about a Christ focused life. Then there is the warning that we will all be judged, and there is no favouritism. We think of no favouritism warnings as applying to the rich and powerful, which of course they do, but they apply to all of us. Just because someone is poor or oppressed does not mean they will not be judged. We all come under judgement, and, in fact, that adds to the dignity of us all.
