Mark 6:30-33 - Come with me by yourselves

6:30,31

The apostles had been sent out, they now returned and reported to Jesus all that they had done and taught. Note, yet again, the emphasis on doing and teaching. Both are considered to be of utmost importance, and go together. They had been busy, and now people were “coming and going” because of the presence of Jesus. Possibly the deeds of the apostles had also become news. So the disciples had no chance to eat or rest. So Jesus planned to take them away with Him to a quiet place so that they could recuperate.

6:32,33

Jesus took them in a boat to a solitary place. However, any plans to have peace and quiet were thwarted, as the crowds managed to find them. It is interesting to note that finding peace and quiet with His disciples was not something that Jesus was very successful at!
