The writer is not denigrating angels at all. They are God’s messengers, and describes them as flames of fire. It is not that the angels don’t matter, it is just that Christ is infinitely greater, quote comes from Ps 104:4.
1:8,9
The title assigned to the Son, is first of all to be called God. Then His throne will last forever. He will rule His kingdom with a sceptre of righteousness. He is assigned the attributes that rightly only belong to God. So Christ has been exalted above all else. As it says in Eph 1:20-23, Matt 28:18.
