43:25
Having just talked about sacrifices and sin, we now get this great statement, “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions”. It is God Himself who was the one true sacrifice, He blotted out our sins. And He does this for his own sake. Again, we need proper understanding here. When we read “for my own sake” we can think that this means God doesn’t actually care about us, He is just doing this for His own glory. This is a misunderstanding. We think it is either “His sake” or “our sake”. God’s plans are so wonderful that when something is done “for His sake” or “for His glory” we actually benefit beyond belief as well. But our focus needs to be on His glory. We see an example of that here, for He will remember our sins no more!
