Isaiah 29:23,24 - Those who are wayward

29:23,24
When will this happen? When they see their children, the work of God’s hands. They will see the work of God in others. Paul expresses a similar sentiment in Romans 11 when he says God will make Israel jealous by His work among the Gentiles. When Israel sees others as being the work of God’s hands, they will want the same. And when they return to God there are three things that will characterise their new life. They will keep God’s name holy, they will acknowledge that God is indeed holy, and will stand in awe of God. Put this in to today’s context. There are many, indeed it is the general demeanour of society, who condemn God because of Biblical teaching on sexuality, they decry God because of it. But there will come a time when they repent, and then see that God was right all along, that He was holy, and they will honour God because of it.

“Those who are wayward in spirit will gain understanding, those who complain will accept instruction”. We can despair at times at society, thinking there is no hope. We should not lose hope, for our God is a God who changes hearts and minds. May God have mercy on our society and change the heart of our society.
