Acts 13:46-52 - They were glad and honoured the word of the Lord

13:46-48

It seems that “Jews'' here refers to Jews in general, rather than just the leaders. Paul and Barnabas were nor surprised by the reaction, and were not intimidated by it. They told the Jews that since they did not accept the gospel, they would turn to the Gentiles. Paul quotes from Is 49:6, showing that what was happening was in line with what the prophets had foretold.

13:49-52

The word of the Lord spread throughout the region. Note that Luke sees the spread not the spread of the church, but the spread of the word of God, of the gospel (which is the word of God). The Jewish leaders incited hatred against Paul and Barnabas, working through the “God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city”.  The result was that Paul and Barnabas were expelled from the region. So they shook the dust off their feet and went to Iconium, see Matt 10:14. The discipled were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit, so the worst efforts of the opposition failed to have the desired effect.
