“You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.” Things will just work. It doesn’t matter whether you decide to do this or do that, because we walk in obedience it will work. Our children will be blessed, and the crops and livestock will also be blessed.
28:5,6
It doesn’t matter what sort of work we do, it will be fruitful and successful. So the basket and kneading trough are singled out here. “You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out”. Again, the generality of the blessing is emphasised. Sometimes we can get so bogged down in the details of a decision, when often “making the right decision” is not the key issue, walking in faith and obedience is the key issue.
28:7
This is an oft quoted verse in charismatic circles! It does not say that no one will rise up against us, but does say that they will flee from us in seven. The significance of the seven is that their defeat will be much more comprehensive than their attack.
