3:10,11
They had been naked all their life and it had never been a problem. Now it was a problem. Why? Because of sin. Now they were afraid of God. God knew that something had changed. In fact being God He knew exactly what had happened. The questions are really about His relationship with Adam and Eve. God asks Adam specifically if he has eaten from the tree he was commanded not to eat from.
3:12,13
Now follows the age old game of pass the blame. First the man blames the woman. He is also blaming God with his words “the woman you put here with me”. He blames the woman for offering him the fruit. God then speaks to the woman. He is not accepting Adam’s excuse, for He will proclaim judgement on him in a few verses time. The woman continues the blame game saying “the snake deceived me, and I ate”. This is actually partly true. The snake did tell her a pack of lies and did deceive her. However, a simple following of God’s ways would have avoided all the trouble.
