Isaiah 47:8-11 - Hear this you lovers of pleasure

47:8,9
When empires become self-satisfied and feeling completely secure they tend to focus on living for pleasure. It happened to Rome with its bread and circuses, just keep the people happy by giving them enough to eat and keep them entertained. The West has gone in much the same direction. The empire thinks it is secure, and cannot be touched by anyone. But the very things it thinks it is safe from will overtake it, and it will happen quickly. Look at how quickly Nazi Germany changed from being so close to conquering Moscow to being completely devastated. See how quickly the Soviet empire collapsed. And there is nothing the Empire can do to stop it.

47:10,11

They trusted in their wickedness, thinking that no one saw what was going on. Empires all have dark secrets, they use evil means to maintain their hegemony. But God sees everything, and everything eventually comes to light. They get misled by their own supposed wisdom and understanding. Any “understanding” that is not based on God will ultimately lead us down a wrong road. The current LGBTQ madness will eventually be shown up for what it is. Those who think financial power protects them will come to nothing. See how quickly financial empires can crumble to nothing. These empires think they are totally secure. No one except God is omnipotent, and to all who trust in themselves something will happen that shows up the futility and foolishness to trusting in ourselves.
