Again, we may find it troubling that the child is struck, the child who was innocent. Though it is worth noting that those who are pro-abortion have little concern for the child victim. However, we should note that the emphasis in the text is on David, so we should perhaps focus on what God wants us to focus on.

David was attached to the child, and he pleaded with the Lord to relent and to spare the life of the child. David slept on the ground and refused to eat. The “elders of his household” tried to get him to eat and to get up, but David was not for listening.
