18:1-4
God does not just deliver His message by prose, a point we have made on a number of occasions. Here He tells Jeremiah to go down to the potter’s house, saying He will reveal his message there. Of course we must read and study our Bibles, but sometimes God will speak to us through natural events, through life events. Now if we are familiar with our Bibles then when God does this we will be far more likely to understand.
So Jeremiah duly went down to the potter’s house and, surprise, surprise, saw the potter working at the wheel. However, the pot became misshapen so the potter started again, moulding the pot into another pot as he thought best.
