Anyone who thinks following the world’s wisdom is a good idea really should read this verse and take it to heart. The world is darkened in their understanding. We can see this in the present state of sexual morality, gender and abortion in the world. How can a world that thinks being able to kill a baby in the womb is a “human right” possibly have any wisdom? How can a world that thinks giving drugs to a child to inhibit the normal physical development have any wisdom? How can a world that thinks sex without commitment is a good thing have any wisdom? How can a world that thinks sex and gender have nothing to do with each other have any wisdom? The world is truly darkened in its understanding. God’s ways bring life, the world’s ways bring death. The world is truly separated from the life of God. And the world does these things not because it is wise, but because it is ignorant. Their hearts have been hardened.
The worst thing is when the church seems to think it a good idea to affirm the world in its darkness, and does in the name of “love”. When the church does that the heart of the church is just as darkened as the mind of the world. God’s mission, and therefore the mission of the church, is to call the world back from death to life, not to affirm the world on its way to death.

They have given themselves over to sensuality. How true. We all need to beware of this. The world throws itself headlong into a life of sin and impurity. Then see that greed also goes with this. One sin never comes alone, it always brings several of its friends along as well.
