Numbers 18:21-32 - Speak to the Levites

18:21-24

The Levites received their income from the tithes. The Levites had no tribal land given to them, unlike the other tribes. 18:22 makes it clear that only the Levites were allowed to come near the Tent of Meeting. It is significant that under the gospel we are all priests. Under the Law if anyone else came near then they would die. The inheritance of the Levites was purely in the Lord. Again, this points to the significance of the statements in the New Testament that state that we are heirs in Christ. Also the importance of Peter saying in 1 Pet 3:7 that husbands and wives are co-heirs.

18:25-32

Although the Levites received the tithe that was given to the Lord, they were to give a tithe of this back to the Lord. They had to share in giving to the Lord. This was then to be given to Aaron. They were to offer the best to the Lord.
