3:24-27
As with the first vision, Ezekiel had fallen face down. And as before, the Spirit came and raised him up. For a time Ezekiel would be severely restrained. The exact nature of this restrain is not clear, whether it was physical or spiritual. However, he was still able to give the warnings at times. In the current situation in the west and in the world we can feel similarly restrained. The Covid situation and the accompanying lockdowns are severely constraining what we can do. The “wokeness” of society in the west further restrains what the church can do. Though we also have to be honest and admit that at least some of this restraint is our own fault, a product of our own reluctance to preach the gospel.
However, this restraint would not last forever. In Ezekiel’s case, after the fall of Jerusalem Ezekiel was released to give messages of hope that we find form chapter 33 onwards. The present situation is under God’s control, and there will come a time of release. We need to listen to the Lord.
