“Listen carefully and take to heart all the words I speak to you”. The number one priority for all of us is to listen to the Lord. The message we convey is not like some work announcement, but something that comes direct from the Lord, and is deeply rooted within us. We should study the word carefully, and let it sink in. If we start listening to the world more than we listen to the Lord then we are in big trouble.
Ezekiel’s task was to speak to the people in exile. As mentioned earlier, Ezekiel may have been upset that one of the consequences of the defeat of Jerusalem was that he would not be able to fulfil his expected career as a priest. God still has a task for him. Likewise He has a task for us, despite the disruption in life caused by Covid.
Again,God emphasises that whether the people listen or not is not the issue, Ezekiel is still to proclaim the word of God.
