Hebrews 3:3,4 - Jesus the builder

3:3
Moses was part of the house. He was saved by grace, just as all Israel was saved from Egypt by the grace of God. Jesus is greater than Moses in so many ways. Jesus created the whole universe, the whole house, Jesus did not need to be saved from sin for He had no sin. So Jesus is worthy of infinitely more honour than Moses. In a wider context the same argument applies to ideas that Jesus was just a prophet, just a teacher, just a good man. He was all these things, but He is infinitely more, and the word “just a” has no place in description of Jesus.

3:4

Everything requires a creator. We know that everything we see in our towns and cities was built by someone. God is the builder of all things, the creator of all things. The doctrine of creation is so important, and it shapes our worldview. The secular worldview sees us just as a product, or byproduct, of chance. It sees us as no different from the animals. This has serious, and destructive, consequences for life. Abortion is seen as OK because life is not valued properly.  We see ourselves as being in charge. Unless we see God as creator we will never see the world as it really is.
