Ephesians - Analysis

Before starting on the main text it might be worth doing an overview. This will follows the section headings used in the New Living Translation and lists the main themes.

1:1-2	Greetings
1:3-14	God's eternal purpose. Spiritual blessings. Christ is the centre of it all. The Holy Spirit.
1:15-23	Prayer for spiritual insight - that we realise the enormity of what God has done and of His plan. Christ is the head of the church.
2:1-10	How God dealt with the problem of sin Saved by grace through faith Saved for a purpose.
2:11-18	Jews and Gentiles are reconciled.
2:19-22	We are all part of God's eternal plan
3:1-13	God's plan is revealed. How the promise to Abraham is going to be fulfilled.
3:14-21	Spiritual strength The extent of God's love and His unlimited plans
