Girls go along with sex acts, says teacher

There is a very worrying report on the BBC website today about girls being coerced into sex acts that they later regret. This report is in line with several similar ones that have appeared in recent months. It is right to teach people about the importance of relationships, and definitely about the right to say no. However, it misses an at least equally important point, and quite possibly a much more important one.

The prevailing attitude in society is that all consensual sex is OK, rather than the Biblical attitude that the one and only place for sex is within marriage between one man and one woman. Indeed today you are considered rather odd if you do not have sex before marriage. The prevailing morality (or lack of) in a society is extremely important in influencing what people will and will not do. In a society that essentially says if it feels good do it, it is an awful lot harder for girls to say no.

What we see in this report is this fruit of the abandonment of God’s ways, and, as is so often the case, it is women and children, especially girls, who suffer the most.
