John 3:31,32 - Testifying

3:31
There is a fundamental difference between Jesus and all other men. Throughout church history there has been a tendency to veer to one extreme or the other. On the one hand to stress the humanity of Jesus and effectively to deny His divinity, or to stress His divinity and deny His humanity. Either of these is completely wrong, at this time in history our error is to focus on the humanity and forget His divinity. If we do this we will have no understanding at all of who Jesus is. Jesus is from above, He came from heaven, and therefore speaks of things of which we have no knowledge. The one “who is from the earth” could be applied to all men, but specifically applies to John the Baptist here. So again we see his complete awareness of who and what he is. If only all of us had such a level of self-awareness.
The one who is from above is above all. And if only we had such a level of Christ awareness! Jesus is above all.

3:32
Jesus testifies to what He has seen and heard. Man assumes that this universe is all there is and by looking at it and studying it he will learn all that there is to learn, and will come to fully understand the universe.
This is not so, for the universe is not all there is. It did not come into being all by itself, you and I did not come into being by ourself, or by our own volition. Jesus comes from heaven and knows things that we do not know, and the only way we can know them is by listening to and believing in Jesus.

The problem is “no one accepts His testimony”. Now this is a generalisation and does not mean no one believed at all, but does mean that hardly anyone did. And even those who did “believe” often only partially accepted His testimony, as the disciples demonstrated on numerous occasions.
